It is time to prepare for a Spring fishing

Here Mars! This is usually when I close my Ice Fishing. It is time to think about preparing for the spring fishery. Do you need a new line? Maybe you need a new pole or coil? The sales usually start during this month for all gear that you need. Perhaps you would like to find a new place. Choose a location you have yet to try and plan a weekend to check.

My brothers and friends and I use the winter months to plan a new trip for spring. This year we will spend a few Days at Brooks for the elusive trout. I found a couple while in the backcountry looking for deer sign new. Can not wait to return to a fly in them and see what is there.

See you on the water!

Time to clean your Tackle Box

In the meantime, we might as well get the old tackle box and give it a good cleaning. The first thing to do is through away all the junk (old line and Candy wrappers).

Now, let's be serious. What is your main goal this year? I use two kits side, a box for Fishing Boat and a shoulder bag for canoeing and fishing streams. This allows me to carry a lighter load and remove the gear that I did not need.

It is also a good way to eliminate artifacts that you do not really need. A good hook sharpener is very handy in most any kit. Keep one hand at all times. There is no sense of losing a fish a dull hook.

The next thing you should look at is the condition of your lures. Are they touched or rubbed? touch-up paint or even nail polish (check with your wife or daughters first) will do. Brush the sealer soon after they are dry and you're ready for another year. You can see the high notes at this time. It is time to replace bent and rusty hooks.

When you get to these materials plastics, whether tubes or worms, be Sure to take all that began to stick to the box. They will certainly get you in trouble more later on.

I'm tired just writing about it. Think I'll take a break beer! Go to the water.
